Hi, I’m Kelly, a researcher, educator, and analyst in higher education. In December, 2023 I completed an MPhil in Higher Education at the University of Oslo in Norway and I now work in higher education policy analysis comparing legislation and policies internationally (my words on this site are my own).
I have two general goals in my work: The first, determine the role that higher education has to play on a global scale. The second, emphasize the voices of those involved in higher education: students, faculty and researchers, and staff involved with the necessary, at times non-academic work at higher education institutions. The topic might be the education-to-career pipeline, research capacity for climate change-oriented projects, or access to study abroad, and the destination focus could be Germany, Kenya, China, or the United States – whatever the subject, I focus on what serves society, what serves our students. I am rethinking how we can start valuing post-secondary education in a way that will bolster the contribution of education and research to the world, while helping to limit the stress on our students and better form the working environments of higher education employees. I believe that this will lead to a more innovative and supportive societal structure. To join me on my journey, you’ve found the right place.
